Florida, here we come! In October the boyfriend and I will fly to Florida! We have been talking about visiting the United States for a few years now. Our ultimate dream would be to do a coast-to-coast roadtrip, but at the moment that is not an option. For me, as a student, it’s too expensive and the boyfriend doesn’t have enough free days for it (Dakar takes up a lot of days). But a shorter trip is an option for us. The details aren’t set in stone yet, but the tickets are booked.
The first idea was to rent an apartment at the beach in Miami for a week, visit the Everglades and Keys from there (and maybe stay in a hotel in that area for a night) and to visit Orlando for a few days. In Orlando we want to visit the Universal Studios and Cape Canaveral. Universal is very high on my list because of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. As a child I read those books many times, I’ve seen all the movies and I was (or am) a big fan. I would also like to visit Disney World, but that is not on the top of my list. I’ve also started making a shoppinglist on my iPad. With products that aren’t available in The Netherlands, or products that are much cheapier in the States.
However, the more information we look up, the more we start to doubt. Florida has so many beautiful things to offer that we think we may need to do a roadtrip. A few days in Miami to relax followed by a roadtrip. The only thing that is set in stone is that we will land at Miami Airport on a Thursday and leave from Orlando Airport on a Monday. We haven’t book any hotels etc. yet, so we still have a lot of options. Luckily for us, we have until October to decide what we want to do.
For both of us it will we the first time in the States, so if you have any tips please let me know! What is the best option for hotels? What places do we NEED to see and where do we need to shop? I love to hear all your tips and experiences!
