So I’m not a sports person. Not at all. I do not like to sport. I do not like to play a team sport and I definitely do not like to pay for something I’m not going to use. But of course we all know exercise is good for you. Luckily for me I do not need to exercise to stay slim. But my condition is to laugh about, I have exercise asthma and exercising would be very good for my insulin sensitivity (which basically means I would need less insulin and that’s a good thing). So last year I decided to do a 5K training in the summer and I ran every other day. It felt so good. Afterwards my head was completely empty and I had tons of energy. But then fall came. It started raining. Freezing, snowing etc. I decided I would pick it up again in the spring but of course I have been putting it off and off. So a few weeks ago I picked running up again, but then I got sick and I wanted to focus on finishing my school year. No that’s all done, so time to start running again!
I made a schedule for myself: every monday, wednesday and friday I will do a 30 minute interval training, building it up every week. Until I can run 30 minutes without stopping. On tuesday and thursday I will do exercises for my muscles (especially for my belly and back). On the weekend I’m free, unless I feel like running. To give myself some extra motivation I am going to blog about it. Not every week, because that would be very boring for you guys.
So how did my first week go? Well monday went pretty well. I did a 30 minute interval training and forgot to take my medicine against asthma. And guess what? I didn’t need it at all! But I still have to incorporate my workout schedule into my daily schedule because on wednesday I failed. I went to school for a final presentation, got home and started working. I lost track of time and before I knew it I had to make dinner and leave because I went out with a friend. But I did took my bike instead of the bus and when I went to lunch yesterday with another friend I took the bike as well. Today I’m shopping with a friend, but we will be back around dinner time and since I have no other plans tonight I will definitely go for a run.
