How great would it be if you could get out of the shower, dry yourself and get into your clothes or pj’s without having to moisturize your body first? And being sticky after that so your skinny jeans won’t go smoothly over your legs and you will feel fatter than you are? That’s what Nivea thought when they developed the bodylotion for under the shower.
The idea is easy: you wash your self, shave your legs if you want to and than you put the bodylotion all over your body. Give it a little bit of time to soak in en rinse it of. You are ready! After you are done with your shower your skin is soft and you don’t need to moisturize it anymore. Well, of course I had to try that!
There are two versions, one for the normal skin and one for the dry skin. I would describe my bodyskin as normal. My elbows are pretty dry and my upperarms need some extra care because of the keratosis pilaris. The rest of my skin isn’t really dry and if I don’t moisturize it after showering it’s pretty okay. Except for my legs when I’ve shaved them. If I don’t moisturize them after shaving they will have a “dirty dry white haze” on them.
After I have shaved my legs I put the bodylotion on. It feels a bit strange, putting bodylotion on your body under the shower. Rinse it of quickly, get out of the shower and dry my body with a towel. And my skin feels great! Only my elbows and upperarms need some extra care (Dream Cream!). The rest of the night, and the day afterwards my skin feels good. It isn’t as soft as when I moisturize it after a shower but it isn’t dry of streaky. It is perfect actually. My skin isn’t sticky after showering or anything like that so my clothes go on very smoothly.
It is an extra step you need to take. So does it really save time? Yes, it kind of does. It goes faster then when you moisturize after your shower and you don’t have to wait for the product to soak in. And if you forget a spot it will get the lotion on it when you rinse it off anyways.
De Nivea bodylotion for under the showers comes in two version, for the normal and dry skin. In The Netherlands it costs € 5,99 but you can get it for the introduction price of € 3,99 right now.
