Last year for Sinterklaas I made my own giftpaper for the smaller gifts. It is a great way to personalize them and when they are laying around in a pile of gifts you can see for who they are very quick. Last weekend I did this again for a friends birthday, because we had lots of little gifts. It is very easy and you can do it too! So here is a little DIY.
I like to do this in InDesign, but I suppose you can also use Word or any other text editor for it. Just make sure there are no margins, otherwise you will get a lot of empty white space on the sides of the paper. If you do this in InDesign (or any other editor) make sure you start with an empty file that is the size of a A4 paper.
Start by typing the persons name and choose a nice font and color. Type the persons name again, choose a different font and another color. Now do this again, with a different font but your first color. And again, with a different font but your second color. I like to do a bold font, then a smaller font, another bold font and than a smaller font again. Make sure the size of the font is so big that the last name is on a new line.
If you are using InDesign you can easily repeat the text over the whole sheet (alt+command+U or alt+control+U for Windows). If you are using any other program just select and copy the text and paste it until your sheet is filled.
And that is it! Now print your sheet en wrap your gift in it! If you have more gifts you can use the same template for every gift but I like to make a new one for every gift. With other fonts and colors.
Here is the finished product. A bit wrinkled because we put some jewelry and hairclips in it.
